Primary

The primary classes are Grades 3-6.  The curriculum continues to develop a solid foundation in the Key Learning Areas of English, Maths, History, Science, Geography, Current Events, The Arts,  French, Chinese, Sport and Coding.

English is fundamental to all areas of learning. It is essential that all students learn to speak, listen, read, view, write and spell at appropriate levels of proficiency aligned with the expectations of the Australian Curriculum. Additionally, being truly numerate requires students to develop their concepts and skills of mathematics and to think mathematically to enable them to apply mathematical principles to everyday life. To facilitate this development each day a block of class time is allotted to the core areas of English and Maths.

To complement our core curriculum we provide a broad education, encompassing a wide range of educational activities to provide breadth and depth of experience for all students.

Our Creative Arts program is aimed at developing Drama, Art and Music with our specialist teachers. There is range of excursions and educational visitors supporting learning programs. Students attend two camps, one on Maria Island and another at Gumleaves.

At Lambert School, differentiated classroom environments emphasise inquiry-based and integrated learning.

The school day for the primary students is 8.45 -3:00 Monday- Thursday and 8.45-12:30 on Fridays.
