The primary classes are structured into two groups, Primary 1: Years 3-4 and Primary 2: Years 5-6. The curriculum continues to develop a solid foundation in the Key Learning Areas of English, Maths, History, Science, Geography, Current Events, Civics & Citizenship, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Chinese, Technologies and Coding.
English is fundamental to all areas of learning. It is essential that all students learn to speak, listen, read, view, write and spell at appropriate levels of proficiency aligned with the expectations of the Australian Curriculum. Additionally, being truly numerate requires students to develop their concepts and skills of mathematics, to think and act mathematically to enable them to apply mathematical principles to everyday life. To facilitate this development each day consists of a solid block of class time allotted to the core areas of English and Maths.
To complement our core curriculum we provide a broad education, encompassing a wide range of educational activities to provide breadth and depth of experience for all students.
Our Creative Arts program is aimed at developing Drama, Art and Music with our Specialist Teachers. There are a vast range of excursions and educational visitors to support learning programs. At Lambert School, differentiated classroom environments emphasise inquiry-based, integrated learning.
The school day for the Primary students is 9:15-3:00 Monday- Thursday and 9:15-12:30 on Fridays.
